Job summary
Oaklands Rest Home in Marchwood, Hampshire, is seeking a Night Care Assistant to care for residents through the night. You will monitor wellbeing, respond to residents in need, and assist with personal care as required, all while maintaining calm and dignity during the night.
Training on Ally monitoring is provided, with senior support on every shift. No formal qualifications are required; a compassionate attitude and reliability are essential, with a focus on safeguarding residents and accurate
Qualifications
- Genuine patience and calm, especially when residents are distressed or confused at night.
- Honest and willing to speak up when something is not right.
- Reliability and consistency—your colleagues and residents depend on you.
- Basic English reading and writing to complete digital care records accurately.
- Able to follow care plans and use your own judgement.
Responsibilities
- Monitor resident wellbeing using Ally monitoring and regular checks.
- Respond to residents who are awake, distressed or in need.
- Support residents living with dementia with reassurance and routines.
- Escalate promptly to the Senior Care Lead when a resident is unwell or at risk.
- Complete care records accurately and hand over clearly to the day team.
