Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in Bury is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant (Domestic) to perform a range of cleaning duties across inpatient and community settings. The role supports infection control, safety training and adherence to NHS cleaning standards, with hours 07:00–10:00, Monday to Friday, 15 hours per week.

The postholder will be part of the Facilities team within Capital Investment and Estates Services, contributing to a high standard of cleanliness and patient safety

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 or equivalent experience.
• Experience in cleaning services; COSHH knowledge; colour coding.
• Knowledge of health & safety techniques.
• Good liaison and communication skills; punctual and reliable; complete mandatory training via computer.
• Experience with NHS cleaning standards; colour coding; COSHH.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Good communication & IT skills; punctual & reliable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties in all areas per cleaning schedule and NHS standards.
• Follow infection control, COSHH and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure areas meet cleanliness levels.
• Report incidents or near misses as per Trust policy.
• Dispose of waste safely and left in a clean condition; report defects to supervisor.
• Attend mandatory training and work as part of a cleaning team.
