Practice Plus Group is recruiting a full-time Clinical Advisor for its NHS 111 service. The role focuses on telephone triage using NHS Pathways, assessing callers and advising on home care, next steps, or referral.

Homeworking is possible after meeting performance and attendance standards, with at least 24 hours monthly on site. Applicants must be a registered nurse or paramedic (NMC/HCPC) with post-registration acute or primary care experience and strong clinical decision-making, communication,

• Registered nurse or paramedic with current registration.
• Two years post-registration experience in adult acute, primary or community care.
• Experience in telephone triage or telephone advice.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilidades

• Provide telephone triage to patients using NHS Pathways.
• Assess callers across a wide spectrum of clinical conditions.

• Utilise clinical knowledge to decide appropriate actions.
• Support Health Advisors on site with minimum 24 hours per month on site.
• Complete training to become a Pathways Health Advisor.
• Maintain productivity of 3.8 cases per hour when homeworking.

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a full-time Clinical Advisor for its NHS 111 service. The work centres on telephone triage using NHS Pathways, assessing callers across a wide range of conditions and advising on home care, next steps or referral. Homeworking is open only to advisors who meet performance and attendance standards, with a minimum of 24 hours a month on site. Applicants need NMC nursing or HCPC paramedic registration, plus post-registration acute or primary care experience.

What the job involves

• Provide telephone triage to patients using NHS Pathways
• Assess callers with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions
• Advise callers on home care management, next steps and referral to further care
• Use clinical knowledge to decide the most appropriate action
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, giving evidence-based care
• Support Health Advisors on site, attending a minimum of 24 hours per month
• Complete training and assessments to become a fully accredited Pathways Health Advisor
• Maintain a productivity standard of 3.8 cases per hour when homeworking
• Show commitment to high-quality service and continuous professional development

What’s required

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or paramedic

Registration & licences

• NMC registration as a nurse, or HCPC registration as a paramedic

Experience

• Significant post-registration training, consolidation and experience
• Two years recent experience in adult acute or primary or community care
• Strong understanding of patient management in primary or secondary care
• Telephone triage or telephone advice experience
• Experience of working independently

Skills & knowledge

• Clinical decision making with critical thinking
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Good IT and keyboard skills

Other

• Passing training assessments and call audits
• Attending training every day
• For homeworking: six months' performance with acceptable audit scores
• For homeworking: good attendance and no live formal disciplinary or capability process
• For homeworking: minimum productivity of 3.8 cases per hour

Nice to have

• Fully qualified Pathways Advisor
• Core Module 1 and Clinical Modules 1 and 2 completed
• PACCs trained
• Up to date with all mandatory training

• Night rate of £27.83 per hour from 11pm to 7am, and weekend rate of £30.60 per hour from Friday 18:00 to Monday 07:00 (not contractual)
