Overview

Our Gallagher New Business Project Management team are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable insurance professional to join our established team to support our New Business team across London and the South region.

Working directly with our internal New Business and Broking Placement teams, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support within a fast-paced environment. This role will enable you to gain solid exposure to the wider Gallagher teams and enable you to further your career within the business.

This role is based remotely, with the expectation of travel to Chelmsford a few times a month.

How you'll make an impact
  • Review the information gleaned by the Development Executives from the client to ensure that a risk presentation can be made into the market, including relevant COPE information and information relating to processes.
  • Issuance of Letters of Appointment/Letters of Authority to markets and following up to ensure that they are processed.
  • Review sums insured and challenging anomalies in the values declared.
  • Review and critique existing policies and identify issues which can be addressed/repaired, particularly gaps in cover.
  • Choose a broking strategy and agree which markets to approach alongside the Broking team.
  • Create new business presentations, and work alongside our broking team to ensure that quotes are received according to agreed deadlines.
  • Review quotes and negotiate brokerage/risk management funds.
  • Select the recommended quote and write the new business report.
  • Undertake conceptual reviews, tenders, and produce CORE360 reports.
  • Identify potential cross sell / up sell opportunities.
  • Create, input, and process RFQs in Acturis.
  • Prepare debit notes and policy summaries.
  • Secure delivery of policy documentation from insurers and check prior to approval and release by Account Executive.
  • Deal with account queries and credit control matters highlighting any concerns to account managers in a timely manner.
  • Understand and apply fundamental legal and regulatory policy in relation to internal policies and the insurance contract as required.
  • Ensure that the new client's program can be handed over to the new Account Executive/Account Broker so that the transition is seamless, including ensuring a compliant file.
About you
  • Previous experience working as a Commercial Account Handler, Commercial Sales Executive, or Broker Support would be an advantage.
  • Commercial insurance knowledge would be preferable.
  • Experience handling new business tenders and producing market presentations would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of broking in both regional and London Market.
  • Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII would be an advantage. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with an intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is crucial, as is having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLAs.
  • Due diligence and process driven to deadlines, task focused, results oriented and takes initiative when assisting team members!
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, confident when building and maintaining rapport, strong planning and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
