Job summary

The Ministry of Justice seeks a Neurodiversity Support Manager to lead on supporting prisoners with neurodivergence and to drive a whole-system ESW strategy within the establishment.

The role involves coordinating with education providers, HoESW, LSM and Industry Managers to ensure learners engage with education, skills and work, and that support extends into the community on release.

Qualifications

• PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 in Education and Training.
• Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the learning of learners with SEND/ALN.
• Extensive experience working with people with complex needs in neurodiversity roles in custodial or similar settings.
• Knowledge of OFSTED/EIF and FE criteria.
• Substantial teaching experience with accessible resources for diverse learners.
• History of developing strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience operating in a multi-agency setting and achieving targets.
• Experience implementing change in educational contexts and evidence of impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing a neurodiversity strategy and oversee ESW alignment across education, skills and work.
• Coordinate with HoESW, LSM, Industry Managers and education providers to ensure engagement and progression of prisoners.
• Manage data collection on neurodiversity and analyse practice to tailor provision.
• Case manage prisoners needing additional support to access education, skills and work opportunities.
• Ensure appropriate adjustments and accommodations for neurodivergent prisoners and engage staff through briefings and communications.
• Raise awareness of Neurodiversity and work with stakeholders to support community release planning.
