Job summary

Ministry of Justice in the UK is seeking a Prison Employment Lead to identify work-ready prisoners and match them to vacancies via the New Futures Network and partner agencies.

The role involves engaging with prison staff, DWP coaches, and employers, organizing opportunities, and promoting employability through education and training pathways.

This is a non-operational, non-rotational role with hybrid working and opportunities to influence employment outcomes after release.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with senior officials.
• Ability to engage at Local and Regional Management level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial experience and an understanding of contract management.
• Knowledge of recruitment processes/legislation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify work ready candidates.
• Refer prisoners to work readiness support.
• Match work ready candidates to vacancies from the NFN, DWP and other employment teams.
• Organise regular opportunities for NFN, DWP and other stakeholders to bring employers into the prison.
• Liaise with COM to ensure post-release support is provided.
