Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an Engineering Surveyor to support the Net Zero Teesside project based at Redcar and Cleveland. You will deliver control surveys, topographic surveys, and setting out while ensuring accuracy and adherence to tolerances.

You will manage survey data, produce as-built records, and support design verification throughout construction. The role requires experience in surveying for civil or mechanical environments, proficiency in survey software, and a commitment to Health &

Qualifications

• Essential: surveying experience in civil/mechanical contexts.
• Proficient in survey IT and software including 3DR, N4CE, Infinity, SiteScan.
• Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems and geodetic methods.
• Familiarity with GNSS networks and modern survey equipment.
• Strong communication, planning, and team collaboration skills.
• Commitment to Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Degree or substantial industry experience in Surveying/Geomatics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver site survey works including control, topographic surveys, setting out and checks to required tolerances.
• Manage collection, processing and issue of survey data for construction use.
• Produce as-built records, drawings, and models aligned with project requirements.
• Maintain and verify survey equipment, ensuring accuracy and defect reporting.
• Keep survey data stored, backed up and version-controlled per requirements.
• Review design information prior to construction and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with site engineers to ensure smooth flow of survey information.
• Perform verification surveys at key stages to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Take ownership of QA/QC requirements and compliance with ITPs.
