Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a dynamic MEP Engineering Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland. You will deliver survey activities, including setting-out, data capture, and verification tasks, supporting site teams to ensure work is delivered safely and to required tolerances.

Qualifications

• Significant surveying experience in civil/mechanical environments.
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles and construction delivery.
• Proficiency with survey IT applications and data handling.
• Effective communicator with coordination and team-building skills.
• Experience operating Leica TS16/TS60 total stations and workflows.
• Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems and GNSS/digital surveying technologies.
• Commitment to health & safety and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys, including control as‑builts and setting‑out tasks.
• Collect, process and issue survey data in agreed formats and tolerances.
• Produce accurate as‑built records, drawings and models using approved software.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of survey equipment and daily checks.
• Maintain orderly survey data with backups and version control.
• Perform QA checks on design information prior to construction.
• Support site engineers with information from design models and drawings.
• Carry out verification surveys to confirm dimensional compliance.
