Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking a Housing Management Officer to join the Housing Services team on a permanent and fixed-term basis. You will manage a housing patch, advise tenants and partners, and enforce where required to keep neighbourhoods safe and thriving.

You will handle tenancy sustainment, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, estate management, and resident engagement with a professional, client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Two years or more in housing management or related field.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and practice.
• Experience managing complex customer issues and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tenancy and estate management across a defined area.
• Deal with tenancy sign-ups to sustainment and enforcement.
• Investigate anti-social behaviour with residents and partners.
• Support safeguarding, domestic abuse cases and vulnerability.
• Carry out estate inspections and neighbourhood walkabouts.
• Lead resident engagement and local improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports, case records and court documentation.
