Job summary

Portsmouth Homes, under Portsmouth City Council, seeks a Housing Officer to deliver comprehensive housing management across a 400-property patch. The role focuses on tenancy support, arrears and lettings, anti-social behaviour, and compliant data handling to sustain tenancies and maximise income.

You will liaise with tenants, gather information, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high service standards and strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing management/working for a social housing provider.
• Full driving license and access to a car.
• Excellent literacy & numeracy (5 GCSEs incl Maths & English) or equivalent.
• Housing or management qualification desirable.
• Extensive IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver generic housing management services across a patch (approx. 400 homes).
• Manage anti-social behaviour, arrears, lettings, and tenancy management to maximise income.
• Support tenants at start of new tenancy and ensure understanding of obligations.
• Maintain good customer service and build trust with tenants and partners.
• Record-keeping to inform actions, complaints, and regulatory records.
