Job summary

Leonardo in the UK is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams across naval programmes, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule and technical goals. You will work with Project Managers and Engineering Leads to uphold customer requirements, regulatory standards and robust engineering plans.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in an engineering-related discipline.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex programmes.
• Strong understanding of lifecycles, governance processes and project delivery.
• Experience in engineering planning, resource management and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage engineering performance against cost, schedule and technical objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management across engineering, programme and business teams.
• Commercial awareness and ability to make engineering decisions in a broader business context.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across Naval programmes.
• Manage and support Project Engineering Leads for projects or work packages.
• Ensure engineering solutions meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain robust engineering plans with milestones and risks.
• Monitor performance and adjust plans to mitigate cost, schedule and technical risks.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure successful programme delivery.
• Build relationships with Engineering Functions to resolve resourcing issues.
• Produce and present engineering status reports for governance.
• Coordinate inputs to bids, including cost estimation and bid reviews.
• Represent engineering in Naval Communications governance and programme reviews.
• Present status at senior leadership and Board-level reviews.
• Contribute to a high-performing engineering culture and growth.
