Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to drive the engineering content of our Future Seeker programmes, leading multi‑disciplinary teams and ensuring delivery to time, cost and performance budgets while meeting customer and legislative requirements.

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will produce engineering status reports, support business winning activities, plan resources, and mentor engineers to develop capability across hardware, firmware and mechanics.

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in an engineering‑related subject.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience with managing and/or leading TRL research programmes.
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Generate clear engineering plans with milestones and risk management.
• Prepare monthly engineering status reports for line management.
• Coordinate engineering input into bids as part of business winning.
• Line manage engineers and support career development.
