Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Southampton is seeking a Chief Project Engineer to own the technical solution for naval systems projects. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, drive SDA activities, and ensure lifecycle integrity from concept to delivery.

Role requires extensive military product experience, strong RF/Comms know-how, and Proven ability to engage with customers and SMEs. Hybrid working is available and the company offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Strong background in complex military product development and systems solutions.
Experience with RF, communications or networking domains.
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and drive technical strategy.
Experience in design reviews, requirements, test and acceptance processes.
Ability to obtain SDA status and act as technical signatory when needed.
Excellent communication with SMEs, end users and external partners.

Responsibilities

Own the technical solution for all phases of product development across the lifecycle.
Represent the company in technical engagements with customers and stakeholders.
Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with company procedures and safety.
Manage evidence for certification and ensure traceability of requirements.
Mentor the technical team and drive cost-effective design and schedules.
Coordinate with supply chain and development teams to meet end-user needs.
