Job summary

The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon is seeking a new member of our Front of House team to maximise customer satisfaction and income from the shop and tea-room. The post reports to the Front of House Manager and will take responsibility for shop management, including stock selection, buying and sales reporting.

They will also act as Front of House Duty Manager, supervising staff and volunteers in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• The applicant should have strong customer service and retail experience.
• Flexibility and a commitment to excellent customer care are required.
• Experience in stock selection, buying and sales reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Museum Shop including stock selection and buying.
• Prepare and present sales reporting to the Front of House Manager.
• Act as Front of House Duty Manager in the absence of the Front of House Manager.
• Oversee Front of House staff and volunteers and ensure excellent customer care.
