Job summary

NORTH DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL is seeking a Front of House role to ensure the museum delivers a high-quality visitor experience and efficient trading operations on a day-to-day basis.

You will help maximise income from trading activities, manage shop and tea-room duties, and provide duty management and health and safety oversight in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the quality of visitors' experience of the museum through the smooth, efficient and effective running of the day to day Front of House and trading operations
• To maximise income from the Museum's trading activities
• Duty management of all front of house facilities and activities
• Shop management, including selection and buying of stock, sales reporting and maintaining the highest standards of presentation, service and safety.
• Appointed First Aider
• A key part of the Front of House team of staff and volunteers which aims to maximise customer satisfaction and income from shop and tea-room
• Shop management, including buying and sales reporting
• Front of House Duty Manager in the absence of the Front of House Manager
• Health and safety in public areas
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Front of House Manager
