Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited seeks an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician to service and maintain critical site equipment at Speen, Newbury. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs, and install upgrades while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role includes standby on-call duties with appropriate payments. Applicants should hold an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, with ONC/HNC or NVQ levels, plus mechanical upskilling.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with electrical background and relevant qualifications.
• Experience combining electrical and mechanical skills to maintain complex plant.
• Good understanding of health & safety standards and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs quickly to minimise downtime.
• Install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely.
• Provide technical guidance and training to technicians when required.
• Participate in standby rota and related on-call duties.
