Are you a proactive, hands‑on engineer with a passion for problem‑solving and continuous improvement?

We're recruiting for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing site in Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a business that values innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across a busy production site, covering packaging lines, refrigeration systems, site facilities, and utilities. Working closely with production teams, you'll ensure all machinery and systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the satisfaction of keeping a high‑performance site running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system faults.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular compliance, wastewater, and cooling tower checks.
  • Promote and uphold strong health and safety standards at all times.
  • Support factory KPI delivery through improved reliability and reduced downtime.
About You
  • Completed a recognised UK Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Experience in a multi‑skilled role (ideally 60 : 40 electrical to mechanical).
  • 17th or 18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills across PLCs, Scada, power / control circuits, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven background in a fast‑paced manufacturing or FMCG environment – food industry experience is highly desirable.
  • MEWP / IPAF licences (current).
  • Confident communicator with a "can do" mindset and proactive approach.
