Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative for a permanent social housing maintenance role in the Sheffield area. You will deliver responsive repairs, void refurbishments, and planned works across occupied properties, maintaining quality workmanship and strong customer service.

Trades include carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and general building. You’ll work safely, complete job sheets on handheld devices, and hold a valid driving licence with a DBS

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing repairs and maintenance.
• Competent in a range of trades, with a core skill in either carpentry, plumbing, or general building.
• Ability to carry out high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.
• Must possess own basic trade tools.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in occupied and void properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties
• Complete void property refurbishments to agreed standards and timescales
• Undertake a variety of trade works including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and general building
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
• Accurately complete job sheets and associated paperwork using handheld devices where required
• Work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently
