Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to deliver responsive repairs, void refurbishments, and general building maintenance in social housing across properties. You will work within a growing maintenance team, ensuring quality workmanship and strong customer service on every visit.

The role requires experience across carpentry, plumbing or general building, own basic tools, and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing repairs and maintenance.
• Competent in a range of trades, with a core skill in either carpentry, plumbing, or general building.
• Ability to carry out high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.
• Must possess own basic trade tools.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Clear DBS check.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in occupied and void properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties.
• Complete void property refurbishments to agreed standards and timescales.
• Undertake a variety of trade works including basic plumbing repairs, carpentry and joinery, patch plastering and making good, tiling repairs and replacements, painting and decorating, and general building maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes.
• Accurately complete job sheets and paperwork using handheld devices where required.
• Work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.
