18 Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable Multi-Trade Operative to join a growing social housing repairs team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role covers responsive repairs, void refurbishments, and a range of trades to maintain social housing properties.

You will work on-site in occupied and void properties, delivering quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and safe practices aligned to company procedures. A permanent contract is offered with a van and fuel card provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Multi-Trade Operative in social housing repairs and maintenance.
• Core trades: carpentry, plumbing or general building with minimal supervision.
• Own basic trade tools and full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work in occupied and void properties and maintain safety.

Are you an experienced Multi-Trade Operative looking for a long-term, secure role within the social housing sector? We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join a growing maintenance team delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and void property refurbishments across social housing properties.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties
• Complete void property refurbishments to agreed standards and timescales
• Undertake a variety of trade works including:
  • Basic plumbing repairs
  • Carpentry and joinery works
  • Patch plastering and making good
  • Tiling repairs and replacements
  • Painting and decorating
  • General building maintenance
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
• Accurately complete job sheets and associated paperwork using handheld devices where required
• Work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing repairs and maintenance
• Competent in a range of trades, with a core skill in either carpentry, plumbing, or general building
• Ability to carry out high-quality repairs with minimal supervision
• Must possess own basic trade tools
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in occupied and void properties
