Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is helping a social housing maintenance team recruit a skilled Multi-Trade Operative for permanent work across occupied and void properties. You will perform a range of trades including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and decorating, while delivering high-quality repairs and excellent customer service.

The role requires carrying out responsive repairs, refurbishments, and ensuring safe, compliant work. A full UK driving licence and DBS clearance are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing repairs and maintenance.
• Competent in a range of trades, with core skills in carpentry, plumbing, or general building.
• Ability to carry out high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.
• Must possess own basic trade tools.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties.
• Complete void property refurbishments to agreed standards and timescales.
• Undertake trade works including basic plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting, and general maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes.
• Accurately complete job sheets and paperwork using handheld devices.
• Work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties
• Complete void property refurbishments to agreed standards and timescales
• Undertake a variety of trade works including:
  • Basic plumbing repairs
  • Carpentry and joinery works
  • Patch plastering and making good
  • Tiling repairs and replacements
  • Painting and decorating
  • General building maintenance
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
• Accurately complete job sheets and associated paperwork using handheld devices where required
• Work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently
