Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Kempton Park WTW. The role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical plant, diagnosing faults, and supporting environmental improvements. You will operate with minimal supervision to keep sites running for customers.

Base location is Kempton Park WTW with 38-hour week, 7:30am–3:36pm. A time-served electrical apprenticeship and upskilling in mechanical NVQ are essential, along with a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with significant experience in electrical systems in a multi-skilled capacity.
• Experience with inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installing, modifying and repairing mechanical and electrical plant.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to minimise plant breakdowns.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly to avoid interruptions to the process.
• Diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs during incidents.
• Provide technical advice and training for technical trainees when required.
• Work on pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, VSDs, valves, measuring equipment and PLCs.
