Job summary

ATA Recruitment is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for a Manchester site on a 3-shift rotation. You will keep manufacturing equipment running safely, efficiently and reliably, tackling PPMs, breakdowns and root-cause fixes.

You'll work closely with Production and Technical teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement in a world-class engineering environment. Ideal candidates will have a recognised engineering qualification and FMCG/food-manufacturing experience, plus strong

Qualifications

• recognised Engineering qualification is expected.
• Previous maintenance experience in FMCG/food manufacturing or fast-paced production.
• Experience with manufacturing and production machinery.
• Good understanding of PPM and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering issues.
• Genuine interest in root cause analysis, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Confidence to challenge temporary fixes and find long-term solutions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packing equipment.
• Responding quickly to breakdowns and production stoppages.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carrying out effective reactive maintenance while addressing root causes.
• Investigating recurring breakdowns and identifying root causes.
• Implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, reliability and performance.
• Working closely with Production, Technical and Continuous Improvement teams.
