Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a state-of-the-art site in Leeds. The role focuses on carrying out PPMs, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

The position supports continuous improvement with a strong emphasis on reliability and safety. The successful candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship and relevant FMCG experience, with hands-on skills in PLCs, SAP/CMMS systems, and automated

Qualifications

• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
• Experience in FMCG/food/beverage/packaging/pharma or other fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with automated production equipment and PLC-controlled machinery.
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pumps, and pneumatics.
• Experience using SAP PM, Maximo, Pirana, Shire, CMMS, or similar maintenance systems.
• Able to work effectively within a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce recurring equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures.
