Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of Health and Safety.
  • Identify and rectify Engineering Breakdowns quickly.
  • Maintain housekeeping in specified areas.
  • Compile work completion records with relevant information.
  • Provide Electrical Breakdown and Preventative cover.
  • Assist in Planned Preventative Maintenance programs.
  • Minimise machine downtime with improved maintenance programs.
  • Encourage good communication between Engineering and Operational teams.
  • Work as part of a multi-functional team.
Job description

Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join the team at one of our well established clients based out of Hemswell.

The Role

The purpose of this role as the shift Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you are responsible for providing full electrical and partial mechanical engineering support to plant and production. And will be reporting into the Engineering Team Leader.

The Salary

£ 42,342 per annum.

Shift Pattern/Working Hours

4 on x 4 off (rotating continental 12‑hour shifts, days and nights).

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice and encourage others to deliver the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that all plant and ancillary equipment is maintained to these high standards.
  • Ensure all Engineering Breakdowns are identified and subsequently rectified as quickly as possible.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping (within specified areas).
  • Ensure all recording systems for work completion are correctly compiled with all relevant information detailed.
  • Provide Electrical Breakdown and Preventative cover for the Shift and assist on the Mechanical Breakdowns if and when required.
  • Assist the Days based Preventative Maintenance Team to accomplish site wide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs within the plant PPM schedules.
  • Assist the Shift Operations Manager in minimising machine down time by proposing and introducing improved maintenance programmes and continuous improvement ideas.
  • Ensure good communication avenues are prevalent between the Engineering Teams and the Operational teams.
  • Work as part of a multi‑functional Mechanical/Electrical on‑site Team.
Key Attributes required to succeed in the role
  • Ideally, you will have experience within a Multi‑Skilled Engineering role within a fast‑paced environment.
  • You will be apprentice trained or have a minimum of an NVQ level 3 in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding and experience of fault finding on 3 phase systems, motors, control panels, breakdown repairs, and completion of Preventative Maintenance routines on both Mechanical and Electrical equipment.
  • Good Team working skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined deadline.
  • Logical and analytical.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Formal Level 3 or above engineering qualifications (HNC/ONC or equivalent) in Electrical.
  • Apprentice trained/qualified at EAL/CandG or NVQ level.
  • You will have experience within a Multi‑Skilled Engineering role within a fast‑paced environment.
  • 5 years' experience in an engineering role within a fast‑paced environment.
