Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the HR function across five locations in Worthing. This hands-on role involves advising Directors and managers, handling employee relations, recruitment, onboarding and compliance, and coordinating Health & Safety administration.

You will lead HR processes, support a business with multiple sites, and work closely with Directors to develop HR strategies and drive employee engagement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
• Experience advising managers on employee-related matters.
• Good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience managing disciplinary, grievance and performance-related matters.
• Experience managing absence and attendance.
• Experience with recruitment, onboarding and the employee lifecycle.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
• Willingness to travel regularly between company locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the HR function across five company locations.
• Provide HR advice and guidance to Directors, managers and employees.
• Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, conduct and capability.
• Support managers with investigations, formal meetings, hearings and appeals.
• Oversee absence management, return-to-work arrangements and employee wellbeing.
• Manage recruitment, selection, pre-employment checks, onboarding and leaver processes.
• Prepare employment contracts, contractual variations and other HR documentation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and ensure HR systems remain up to date.
• Monitor HR data, including absence, turnover and recruitment, and prepare reports for senior management.
• Coordinate training and development requirements, mandatory training and apprenticeship activity.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys and actions arising from employee feedback.
• Coordinate Health & Safety administration, records, audits, inspections and training across all locations.
• Monitor HR and H&S compliance, maintaining documentation required for company, legal and franchise standards.
• Liaise with external Health & Safety advisers and relevant providers where required.
• Manage and support the HR Assistant, overseeing the quality and accuracy of HR administration.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and the overall employee experience.
• Work closely with senior management and site managers to ensure consistent HR practices across the business.
