Job summary

People Solutions seeks a 3.5 Tonne Driver for an Aldridge-based position in the West Midlands. The role involves delivering goods, working with a driver’s mate, and delivering customer service with safety checks. Starts are on Monday to Friday with a 13:00 start time.

The ideal candidate holds a UK Category B licence with at least 12 months’ driving experience, clean record (≤6 points), and is over 21 for insurance purposes. On-site role with immediate starts available.

Responsibilities

• Occasionally support warehouse operations.
• Deliver a variety of goods including building materials and furniture.
• Use satnav/navigation to plan drops.

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a 3.5 Tonne Driver to join our well-established client based in Aldridge, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay, ongoing work, and room to grow and progress.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a Van Driver, Truck Driver or Delivery Driver.

Day-to-Day Duties

As a 3.5 Tonne Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Driving delivery vans safely and efficiently


• Conducting 15-minute vehicle checks before departure


• Working with a driver's mate


• Communicating with the Transport Manager daily


• Providing friendly and professional service to customers


• Occasionally supporting by working in the warehouse


• Delivering a variety of goods such as building materials and furniture


• Using navigation tools (e.g., satnav) to plan and complete drops efficiently

Essential Skills

To be successful as a 3.5 Tonne Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category B Driving Licence


• A minimum of 12 month's experience driving Category B vehicles


• No more than six penalty points (minor infringements only)


• Good knowledge of the UK road network


• Good spoken and written English


• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills


• Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations


• Effective communication and customer service skills


• Must be over 21 years old (for insurance purposes)

Desirable Experience

• Experience driving commercial vehicles


• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
