Job Description

We are seeking a Team Simulation Support Engineer to enhance our motorsports program by utilizing our simulation toolchain across GM-supported series. The role involves providing engineering support to improve on-track performance, collaborating with race team members and support engineers, conducting analysis with offline and driver-in-loop (DiL) simulations, and developing simulation tools. The candidate will also help refine vehicle modeling inputs and establish baseline settings for on-track events, ensuring all projects are completed to high standards, on time, and within budget. Proficiency in simulation and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
  • Assist teams in fitting collected data for simulation input.
  • Collaborate to improve the simulation toolchain and enhance race team performance.
  • Provide expert knowledge on simulation functionality and modeling practices.
  • Represent racing team needs in the development of the simulation toolchain.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in professional motorsport within a race team.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software such as Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, and McLaren ATLAS.
  • Knowledge of high-performance vehicle, tire, and aerodynamic modeling.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with integrity.
  • Availability to travel 10% annually.

Note: This role may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience with driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators.
  • Proficiency in Dymola/Modelica and software development tools like C# and Git.
