Job Description

We are seeking a Team Simulation Support Engineer to enhance GM Motorsports' simulation toolchain, primarily supporting NASCAR Cup series. The role involves collaborating with race teams, conducting analysis using offline and driver-in-loop (DiL) simulations, developing simulation tools, and providing expertise on vehicle modeling and simulation practices. The candidate must complete projects to high standards, on time, and within budget, demonstrating proficiency in simulation and a proactive approach to vehicle performance activities.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
  • Assist teams in fitting collected data for simulation input.
  • Collaborate with the simulation support team to improve the toolchain and enhance race performance.
  • Provide expert knowledge on simulation functionalities and modeling practices.
  • Represent racing team needs in the development of the simulation toolchain.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering industry experience.
  • 4+ years of professional motorsport experience within a race team.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software such as Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, McLaren ATLAS.
  • Knowledge of high-performance vehicle, tire, and aerodynamic modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, with a strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to travel 10% annually.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience with driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators.
  • Proficiency with Dymola/Modelica, C#, Git.
