Job Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

To strengthen our motorsports program, we are seeking a Team Simulation Support Engineer to enhance the utilization of our simulation toolchain across GM Motorsports-supported series. The primary goal is to provide engineering support that improves on-track performance. Additionally, you will assist in developing and educating offline simulation tools, facilitate team feedback to GM simulation development entities, refine vehicle modeling inputs, and help establish baseline simulation settings for on-track events. All projects should be completed to high standards, on time, and within budget. Proficiency in simulation, a proactive approach, and a passion for accurate models are essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
  • Assist teams in fitting collected data for input into simulation models.
  • Collaborate with the broader simulation support team to improve and explore methods to enhance the simulation toolchain and race team performance.
  • Provide race teams with expert knowledge on simulation toolchain functionality and modeling practices.
  • Represent racing team needs as a stakeholder in the simulation development process.
