Job Description

This role involves supporting GM's motorsports program by enhancing simulation tools and providing engineering support to improve on-track performance. The position requires collaboration with race teams, development of offline and driver-in-loop simulations, and contributing to vehicle modeling and simulation development.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
• Assist teams in fitting collected data for simulation input.
• Collaborate to improve the simulation toolchain and race team performance.
• Provide expertise on simulation functionalities and modeling practices.
• Represent racing team needs in simulation development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience.
• 4+ years motorsport experience in a race team.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, McLaren ATLAS).
• Knowledge of vehicle, tire, and aerodynamic modeling.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship skills.
• Ability to travel 10% annually.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in relevant fields.
• Experience with driver-in-loop simulators.
• Proficiency in Dymola/Modelica, C#, Git.
