Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd. is seeking a Customer Support Engineer - Motorsport to deliver market-leading engineering services to our global customer base. You will be the primary contact for customer race programs and support GT3/GT4 project teams with data analysis and reporting.

The role involves on-event support, remote diagnostics, and collaboration with internal Development and Series teams. Expect extensive travel (16–22 events) and a strong emphasis on teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications

Experience of the motorsport industry, either as part of a race team or customer support role is essential.
Data analysis and systems-wide experience including commissioning of GT3 - GT4 platforms from a high level.
Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite including networking, Excel + VBA.
Programming experience with MATLAB, Simulink.
CATIA 2D/3D skills.
Ability to demonstrate a calm way of thinking under pressure.
Knowledge of motorsport Electrical Diagnostic Systems and hardware preferred.
Must be a team player and work well within a mixed-skill team.
Adaptable, quick thinking, decisive with strong initiative.
Strong planning and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Support GT3/GT4 project engineering and development teams in simulation, data analysis and reporting.
Work with internal and customer engineers, providing reports, data processing and race forecasting.
Provide data and electronic systems support, documentation and customer-facing updates.
Assist on-event with data analysis, ECU programming and BOP implementation.
Offer on-event vehicle/systems engineering support and operational procedures.
Liaise with Development and Series teams to feed customer feedback on technical issues.
Document engineering reports from live events for broader teams.
Provide remote diagnostic and advisory sessions for customer teams.
Travel domestically and internationally to support events (16–22 trips).
