Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver innovative software solutions that support Formula 1 operations. The role combines leadership across multiple projects with hands-on development in C#/.NET, Python and TypeScript.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to roadmaps, and work with stakeholders across the business. The position is based at the McLaren Technology Centre with a blend of onsite and remote working, and may require occasional out-of-hours support.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full stack software development using C#/.NET, with working knowledge of Python and TypeScript.
• Experience delivering software solutions using agile methodologies and best practices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and SOLID principles, with the ability to develop maintainable and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and long-term planning.
• Take ownership of technical projects, delivering high-quality solutions on time and to budget.
• Capture and translate business requirements into robust software architectures.
• Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and business users across McLaren Racing.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other engineers.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while driving continuous improvement.
• Produce reliable effort estimates and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, standards, and development methodologies.
• Keep pace with emerging technologies and share knowledge across the team.
