Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting for an experienced MOT Technician at a family-run garage in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The role focuses on MOT tests, servicing, diagnostics and light mechanical work in a supportive, long-established business with staff development.

Salary provides a competitive base up to £35,000, with OTE over £40,000 through an uncapped bonus scheme. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am–5:30pm and one Saturday in two (8:30am–12:30pm).

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Valid MOT Tester registration.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience as an MOT Technician in a workshop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Good communication skills and team player mentality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct multiple MOT tests throughout the day, with occasional light mechanical tasks.
• Ensure vehicles meet safety standards and comply with UK MOT regulations.
• Perform routine servicing and minor repairs as required.
• Maintain high levels of vehicle safety and customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to workshop policies and health & safety guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of work carried out.
• Work effectively within a team environment, supporting workshop operations.
