Job summary

An established automotive retailer in West Sussex is seeking a qualified MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team. You will carry out MOT inspections to high standards and support the service department using the latest diagnostic tools.

This role offers a competitive basic salary (£30,000–£34,000) with OTE up to £45,000 depending on experience and performance, 25 days holiday, a company pension, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• MOT Tester qualification preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT inspections and vehicle examinations to DVSA standards
• Work with the Service Department to update on vehicle progress

About the Role

An established automotive retailer is seeking a qualified MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to play a key role in driving MOT performance while working in a modern workshop equipped with the latest diagnostic tools and technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT inspections to the highest standards, supporting the service team, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT inspections and vehicle examinations in line with DVSA standards.
• Work closely with the Service Department, keeping colleagues informed on vehicle progress and completed work.
• Communicate technical findings and repair requirements clearly when required.
• Deliver a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service at all times.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through ongoing learning and training.
• Embrace new processes and ways of working that improve workshop efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

About You

• Qualified to Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• MOT Tester qualification preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and accurately.
