Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR division, delivering planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to members at their driveway or workplace car park. There are no emergency callouts and no roadside recoveries.

From day one you’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, a fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics. The base salary is £40,170 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime options and extra overtime/bonus opportunities; 40 hours a week,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points)
• Diagnostics equipment and mobile tools are used on-site

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
