Job summary

RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 and guaranteed overtime on top of base pay.

It features a 40-hour week, with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays, in a structured, pre-booked schedule. You’ll perform routine servicing and diagnostics, with in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop, while providing expert advice to members.

Qualifications

• Must have either NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment
• Conduct in-depth repairs you would typically complete in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Work from a digital pre-booked schedule with a clear set of planned jobs
