Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering planned, pre-booked work in the Portsmouth cluster. You’ll move between customers’ drives, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs without emergency callouts.

You’ll be fully equipped with an RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools, plus access to diagnostic devices to deliver high‑quality service and safety checks according to RAC standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
