Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Portsmouth as part of the SMR division. You will perform planned servicing and diagnostics on members' vehicles, working from a pre-booked schedule with a fully equipped RAC van and the latest diagnostic tools.

The role offers a 40-hour week, core hours 8:30am–5:00pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays and overtime opportunities to boost earnings up to £52,000 OTE. Training and career progression are supported within a structured, non-emergency service model.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with advanced mobile equipment.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
