Job summary

The RAC SMR Mobile Mechanics perform planned maintenance and repairs directly at the member’s location, with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, and uniform. You’ll work from a structured schedule, not emergency calls, delivering high-quality servicing and diagnostics.

You'll diagnose and service vehicles, complete in-depth repairs, and provide clear recommendations. A UK driving licence with clean record is required, with supportive development pathways and competitive benefits at RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs you'd normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
