Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and repairs at members’ locations, following RAC standards. The role offers a stable 40-hour week, with occasional Saturdays, and a strong emphasis on planned work rather than emergency calls.

You’ll work with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics, with opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and professional development within a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (≤6 points).

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
