Job summary

You’ll join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR Division, working on a planned schedule of appointments across the Taunton cluster. Expect a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000 and a guaranteed overtime option to increase your base pay.

Working 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays, you’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs, while providing member guidance and safety checks to RAC standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing

• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
