Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Stevenage cluster. You will work on pre-booked appointments with a clearly planned schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs using mobile equipment.

The role offers a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics, with earnings potential up to £52,000 through overtime and bonuses. 40 hours per week, including some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Operate within a pre-booked schedule with planned appointments.
