Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, and guaranteed overtime to boost your pay.

You will work 40 hours per week with 8:30am–5:00pm core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays. You’ll operate in the Stevenage cluster, covering Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Welwyn Garden City and Hertford, performing pre-booked maintenance and repairs at customer locations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience or 5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing on pre-booked appointments.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
