Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will operate on pre-booked jobs across the Harlow cluster and surrounding areas, delivering planned diagnostics, servicing, and repairs in customers’ drives or car parks. Expect a fully equipped RAC van, advanced diagnostics and structured daily schedules, with opportunities for overtime and bonuses.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and one in four Saturdays. Full UK driving licence required with <=6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
