Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked appointments, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs on customers’ vehicles, with a clear schedule and the tools you need to do the job properly.

This full‑time role offers a base of £40,170 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 through bonuses and overtime. You’ll work 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30 to 5:00 and one in four Saturdays, in a supportive, structured team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A valid UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Education
