Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with mobile technicians who carry out planned maintenance and diagnostics on member vehicles directly at their homes or workplaces. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule in your local area, focusing on quality repairs and clear communication with members.

This role offers structured days, a fully equipped RAC van, and ongoing development including EV and diagnostic skills, with opportunities to advance within a fast-growing division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs using mobile equipment.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
