Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR division to deliver planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members—from driveways to car parks. You’ll work from a fully equipped RAC van on pre-booked jobs, with a clear digital schedule and no emergency callouts.

You’ll diagnose, service, and repair using advanced mobile equipment, provide member advice, and earn a base salary of £40,170 with potential OTE up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Alternatively, 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
