Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician within the SMR division to perform planned servicing and diagnostics at members’ driveways and workplaces. You will operate a fully equipped RAC van and manage pre-booked appointments within a structured schedule.

You will benefit from a market-competitive base of £40,170 with earnings up to £52,000 via bonuses and overtime, plus a full 40-hour week and flexible rest-day options after probation. Training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent; 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with full UK driving licence (<6 points).
• Ability to work in a mobile, on-driveway environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on vehicles.
• Perform in-depth repairs as required in a mobile setting.
• Provide member guidance and recommendations after inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligning to RAC standards.
