Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is recruiting Mobile Technicians to service and repair vehicles at members' homes and workplaces across Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Welwyn Garden City, and Hertford. You will work from a fully equipped RAC van with a pre-planned schedule, using advanced diagnostics and tools to complete quality work.

The role emphasizes independence, consistent workflow, and ongoing development with RAC’s structured training pathway.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and/or 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.
• The role is a mobile technician position with planned, pre-booked work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
